Old Hollywood Glam clamoured for attention at the 97th Academy Awards.
Red Carpet Host Julianna Hough was the exemplar of the trend with her Marilyn Monroe curly bob and bold red lip.
“For Julianne’s Oscars Red Carpet look, we wanted to give a nod to Old Hollywood Glamour. Paired with her Dior dress, RCMA Makeup was the perfect fit as the OG Hollywood complexion brand,” said Celebrity Makeup Artist Afton Williams. “The look focuses on complexion: clean, classic, glowing and sculpted with a bold buffed red lip and loads of wispy lashes. RCMA’s Original No Color Powder and the 5-Part Series Favorite Palettes are the hero products for Jules’ on carpet touch-ups, keeping her looking flawless throughout the night.”
RCMA Makeup has been a go-to for celebs since 1963. Founder/MUA Vincent JR Kehoe historically glammed countless icons, including Grace Kelly, Gena Rowlands, Helen Hayes and Betty Page and Peggy Lee.
To create Hough’s flawless complexion, Williams used the following RCMA products:
5-Part Series Favorite Palette KO1, KO3 + KO4Highlight & Contour Palette “Light” S1 + S5Cream Blush Palette #1 “Special” + “CTV”Shimmer Lights Illuminator “Daybreak”Diamond Lights Pressed PowderPremiere Pressed Powder “Amethyst”The Original No Color PowderPremiere Loose Powder “Amber”
On her eyes, Williams used Dior Beauty Diorshow 5 Couleurs; RCMA Highlight & Contour Palette “Light” S5; Dior Beauty Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara; and Dior Beauty Rouge Dior 999 + 883 to create her bold red lip.
Fenty Hair Global Stylist Ursula Stephen created a classic signature short hair style for model Anok Yai.
Ursula prepped Yai’s wig with Fenty Hair’s Protective Type 5-in-1 Heat Protectant Styler, a multi-use prep step styling cream that protects, hydrates, smooths, defrizzes and detangles.
“The Protective Type is the must-have for any heat-styled hair – whether natural, extensions, wig or weave,” said Ursula. “No matter any hair texture or type, it works to protect all hair from heat, while also adding moisture and shine.”
Yai’s wig was styled with Fenty Hair The Controlling Type Hair-Thickening Edge Control Gel, a high-hold gel that lays, smooths and locks hair in place, for an edgy finish.
During last night’s Oscars, L’Oréal Paris and Kiehl’s joined forces with Carnival Cruise Line, MNTN and Samsung for a campaign that put Hollywood’s unsung heroes and stunt performers in the spotlight.
For the first time since 2018, L’Oréal Paris returned to the Oscars, making a highly anticipated comeback with its action-packed ad-spot that highlights the brand’s best-selling Infallible 3-Second Setting Mist.
Participation in the ad campaign marks the first national TV debut for Kiehl’s Since 1851 in its 173-year history, with The Maverick—a cinematic, Western-inspired spot that reimagines a showdown between past and future skincare.
Kiehl’s brought the action beyond the screen this past Monday March 3, with a live stunt takeover at Sephora at The Grove—transforming the space into a real-life movie set with Western-style performances, free samples of Better Screen UV Serum SPF 50+ and exclusive gift-with-purchase offers.
Doubling down on the stunt theme, Kiehl’s took things to the next level with a “double-double” play—Miles Mitchell as Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan. The high-glam, paparazzi-fueled activation kept fans guessing as Miles popped up around town, seamlessly blending “Hollywood magic” with everyday moments to spotlight Better Screen UV Serum SPF 50+.
